Training to become a professional dance artist is a privilege, and underrepresented artists have been a vital part of LMD’s community since the beginning.

In the 2021/2022 season, LMD introduced two dedicated scholarships to support exceptionally talented BIPOC and other underrepresented dancers. This initiative is designed to encourage aspiring artists to train and dance with us without the worry of cost. Selection is by audition, and no declaration or proof of status is required.

LMD offers the following annual scholarships for BIPOC and underrepresented dance artists:

• The New Dancer Scholarship is for aspiring artists who are just beginning their professional dance training with LMD.

• The Company Dancer Scholarship is for a current LMD dancer of exceptional talent and work ethic who wishes to continue training and performing with the company.
