Join the Cause - Join Board of Directors

Founded in 2009, Lamondance is located on the majestic North Shore; Lamondance (LMD) is a shining cultural star leading the way in the training, development, creation, and presentation of contemporary dance. A training and mentorship-based performance company, LMD is a strong, contemporary dance voice in the Lower Mainland that creates daring, sensory dance that pushes and explores the boundaries of physicality. Few other training and performance companies engage more local, national, and international guest choreographers to train and mentor dancers and create new works for the community.

Known for energetic, enticing yet accessible choreography, our performances are uniquely Lamondance in technique and audience experience. We inspire excitement and curiosity for contemporary dance by stirring a passion for movement and dance as ways to cherish the past, delight in the present, and imagine the future.

Lamondance is committed to its role as a leader in the community through dancer training opportunities, community and audience outreach, and professional development activities.

Under the artistic direction of Davi Rodrigues, the Company actively fosters collaborations that support artists, choreographers and audiences alike, furthering the boundaries of contemporary dance. With 61+ new commissions for new works since 2009, reaching more than 40,000 people at home and abroad. Lamondance embraces excellence in the practice of contemporary dance, with its vast diversity of technique and style, honouring its roots and components.
