From the Artistic Director: A New Chapter of Winter
For the past 30 years, my life has been dedicated to the language of contemporary dance—finding ways to translate the human experience into movement. After five wonderful years of A Winter’s Twist, I felt a profound necessity to create something new for our company and our community. I wanted to build a bridge between the nostalgia of the holidays and the bold, transformative energy of the present.
That search led me back to Alice.
Alice in Winterland is more than a production; it is a journey born from the belief that our society needs the spirit of the holidays now more than ever. But rather than a traditional fable, we are looking through a different lens. We are exploring the "frozen psyche"—the moments when we lose our way—and the breathtaking spectacle of how we find our warmth again.
While the stage will be filled with the fantasy and wonder that the winter season brings to us all, the core of this work is deeply human. It is about the connection between the artist and the audience. Every leap, every note of the soundscape, and every shadow on the set is designed to make you feel something real.
