Video Audition Guide

Clear, simple steps to complete your video submission for our programs. Applications are open annually until June 15.

Please Note: If you are attending an in-person audition, you do not need to submit a video application. Video submissions are only required for remote applicants.

Step 1 Prepare Your Video (YouTube or Vimeo)

General Rules

Filmed in a proper studio showing your full body. Keep total length under 12 minutes, ensure good lighting, use minimal editing, and remove any viewing passwords.

1. Introduction

Record a 1-minute verbal self-introduction in English using the exact same name you will use on your application form.

2. Contemporary Solo

Up to 3 minutes long. Studio footage is preferred, but stage footage from the last 12 months is accepted. Full body shot with no heavy edits.

3. Improvisation

2 to 3 continuous minutes of unedited improvisation filmed within the past two months.

4. Ballet Technique

Include 3 short barre exercises (rond de jambe, frappé, grand battement) and 4 short centre exercises (adagio, pirouettes, petit allegro, grand allegro).

5. Table of Contents

Provide a simple list identifying the names of works, choreographers, improvisations, and excerpts featured in your video.

Step 2 Gather Your Attachments

Required Digital Documents

To finish your online application smoothly, please have the following files ready to upload (digital submissions help us reduce paper waste):

  • Dance Resume detailing your background and training.
  • Reference Letter from a mentor or instructor.
  • Professional Headshot.

Step 3 Complete the Application Form

Submission Details

Fill out the online Audition Application form carefully. In Section 2, paste your video link. Double-check all information before submitting, as corrections cannot be made once submitted.

What Happens Next?

If your video advances to the next review stage, you may receive an invitation to a live Zoom audition, or you will be sent a link to learn and film specific company repertoire.

The final step is an interview with our Artistic Director.
