A.I. ANATOMY OF ILUSION
The Season 18 Finale
Enter a realm where perception dissolves, boundaries blur, and pure human imagination takes form.
To mark its landmark 18th season finale, Lamondance presents A.I. Anatomy of Illusion—a hypnotic, high-calibre showcase of world-premiere contemporary dance. While the title playfully echoes our tech-driven era, here, A.I. reveals a truth far more profound: Anatomy of Illusion. The production exposes the striking tension between shadow and substance, reality and surrealism, celebrating the unfiltered human soul that has anchored Lamondance for nearly two decades.
Visionary Choreographers & World Premieres
This monumental season finale brings together an extraordinary roster of international luminaries, celebrated local masters, and our own artistic leadership in a seamless tapestry of new creation. Returning to the company stage, Margarida Macieira unveils a breathtaking creation sculpted specifically for Season 18, alongside acclaimed Vancouver-based dance artist Eowynn Enquist, who brings a compelling, highly atmospheric new work to the company. Making his Lamondance debut, visionary choreographer Arash Khakpour introduces his distinct, provocative movement language, while Brazilian choreographer Fabio Alcantara infuses global energy with a captivating piece that pushes physical boundaries. Anchoring this exceptional line-up, Artistic Director Davi Rodrigues marks 18 seasons of artistic evolution by premiering two brand-new original works—dedicating this entire season to raw, fresh creation as a testament to Lamondance as a sanctuary where world-class choreography evolves without limits.
A Celebration of Voice, Artistry, and Imagination
A.I. Anatomy of Illusion is more than a finale—it is a monumental awakening. For 18 seasons, Lamondance has cultivated a platform where technical prowess transforms into transcendent artistry, and where bold creators bring their most daring visions to life.
Prepare for an enchanting evening of otherworldly movement, striking visual poetry, and the visceral power of the human spirit.
