Rylan Zerr

Born and raised in Abbotsford, BC, Rylan began dancing at age of 5 at Xtreme Talent, practicing in styles such as jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, and ballet. He had the opportunity to grow his skills with the likes of Jordan Allarie, Liam Mackie and Harrison Erskine, eventually finding his love for contemporary dance through self-choreography.

After a year-long hiatus from COVID, Rylan rediscovered his passion for movement, beginning to experiment in group choreography for school and himself. In his final year, he created a multi-award-winning, self-choreographed contemporary solo, expressing his personal journey with anxiety and the acceptance of impermanence.

Rylan's dedication and artistry won multiple school and dance-related awards, earning multiple thousands of dollars in scholarships across competitions and shows. Most notably, Rylan personally gained an invitation to Lamondance's Contemporary Training Program through a scholarship awarded by Artistic Director Davi Rodrigues, after witnessing his performance at a competition and hearing his story.

Rylan is thrilled to continue growing as an artist with Lamondance during the 2025/26 season!
