Payton is a contemporary dance artist based in Vancouver, British Columbia. She grew up dancing competitively in Ottawa, Ontario, before relocating to Vancouver, British Columbia to pursue professional dance. She completed her training at Arts Umbrella Dance Company, graduating in 2021, and continued her development at Lamondance in North Vancouver, where she graduated from in 2023. In January 2024, she expanded her experience and artistry by participating in the N.O.D. Nuova X program in Turin, Italy, where she worked with Tom Weinberger and Andrea Costanzo Martini. After her time in Italy she rejoined Lamondance as a company member for the 2024–2025 season, performing a range of contemporary works by Ben Green and Davi Rodrigues in Vancouver. In January 2025, She joined SQx Dance Company, where she has been performing and leading workshops across Canada and Portugal. She is back at Lamon for the upcoming season, as well as will be continuing her work with SQx Dance Company as well.
