Karl is honoured to live and dance on the traditional territory of the Stó:lō, Tsleil-Waututh, Musqueam, and Squamish Nations.

Born in Calgary, Alberta, Karl started training in Ballet very early and was competing by the age of 5. As his interest for dance grew, he trained in more styles including Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, and Acro. He also got involved as a student teacher at his home studio to mentor younger dancers and share his love for dance with them. Outside of his studio, he trained with Acrobatic Arts and participated in recreational gymnastics, finding a particular love for jumps, flips, and tumbling.

After graduating high school in 2025, Karl started a diploma in engineering technology at college while continuing to explore and pursue dance with his home studio. In 2026, Karl completed his first year at college and received an invitation to attend Lamondance in their post-secondary Contemporary professional training program. Now starting his first year at Lamondance, he has put his diploma on hold to pursue his career as an athlete and an artist through his new life in Vancouver.
