Julia Boyd is pleased to be joining LamonDance for her first season!

She grew up studying all genres of dance in Saskatoon, SK, including earning her Advanced II RAD ballet (ARAD), Intermediate Cecchetti, and Intermediate III ADAPT jazz.

Julia values storytelling through movement, and is most excited for theatrical works made to evoke thought and feelings. She is known for her joyful and authentic stage presence.

Julia spent two years as an artist with Mystic Ballet in Connecticut (2023-2025), where she had the opportunity to dance with an all-international cast and train in TIC contemporary ballet technique. She performed lead roles in ‘Holiday Spectacular’, ‘Flesh’, and ‘Exposure’.

Her professional experience also extends into musical theatre. Julia toured with SaskExpress in an original musical production ‘Lost in a Musical’ written by Danny Balkwill (Summer 2025). The following winter, she choreographed the SaskExpress production of ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’.

Alongside her own dancing career, she adores teaching. She gives dancers a safe, enriching space to explore movement in a creative and encouraging way. Julia obtained her Certificate of Ballet Teaching Studies (CBTS) through the Royal Academy of Dance in 2023. Her choreography has been awarded for its originality and entertainment.

Julia is excited for the opportunity to dance with Lamondance, and to continue to grow as an artist.
