Jessica Marchand
Jessica Marchand was born and raised in the Metro Vancouver area. After graduating high school, she moved to NYC to study at Peridance Center, completing their two-year Certificate program, where she majored in Ballet & Contemporary. Her studies also included partnering, Graham and Taylor modern techniques and repertoire, various street styles, theatre dance, jazz, videography, dance history, vocal lessons, anatomy, and choreography. Post-graduation, Jessica became a freelance-based artist, performing with multiple project-based companies such as Project TAG NYC, and working in collaboration with French artist Bruno Catalano for his exhibition on Madison Avenue. She has performed works by Nicole Von Arx, Tushrik Fredricks, Hussein Smko, Cesar Brodermann, Gregory Dolbashian, Igal Perry, and Lauren Cox, among others. During her second year of studies at Peridance, Jessica started exploring her own choreographic endeavours and has presented work in various festivals around NYC. Her first evening-length show, titled Rocking Chair Tales, took place in August 2024 at Arts on Site in the East Village of NYC. Jessica moved back to Vancouver in the fall of 2024, joining Lamondance Company as a performing artist.
