Experience the vibrant professional environment of Lamondance. Our annual Spring Intensive is designed for aspiring dancers to immerse themselves in our company’s ethos, connect with our artistic leadership, and refine their craft.

2026 Guest Artist: Lesley Telford

The core of this year’s intensive focuses on the extraordinary expertise of Lesley Telford. Participants will engage in 3.5 hours of daily elite training:

  • Ballet Technique (1.5 Hours): Refine your foundation through Lesley’s global professional perspective.

  • Jiří Kylián Repertoire (2.0 Hours): A rare opportunity to study iconic choreography from one of the most influential masters of contemporary ballet.

Beyond the Workshop: Open Studio Invitation

To provide a complete look into the Lamondance "universe," we invite all participants to stay with us after the daily workshop sessions conclude.

You are welcome to observe the beginning of our new creative cycle as Artistic Director Davi Rodrigues starts work on a new piece with the company. This is an informal, optional opportunity for those who wish to see the professional creation process in action. Whether you stay for a few minutes or the full rehearsal, our doors are open to you.

Lesley Telford

Lesley Telford is a choreographer and the Artistic Director of Inverso Productions based in Vancouver, Canada and she is grateful to create and live on Coast Salish territory. Through Inverso she produces performances, the intergenerational LIFT Festival and directs Performance Research Project for emerging artists. Her career as a dancer spanned 20 years with Netherlands Dans Theater 1, Nacho Duato’s Compañia Nacional de Danza and Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. She has set and staged the work of Jiri Kylian and Lightfoot/Leon. Lesley also has a Master of Arts in Cultural Production from the joint program of the University of Salzburg and the Mozarteum.

As a choreographer, she has created with Ballett am Rhein, Ballet Bern, ZifnMalta, 3 creations for Ballet BC, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, Netherlands Dans Theater 1, ProArte Danza, Ballet Kelowna, Ballet Vorpommern, Hubbard Street Dance Company 2, Compañia Nacional de Danza 2, as well as with post secondary programs: International Project for Dance in Rome- Dance Arts Faculty, Butler Ballet, University of Utah, Simon Fraser University and Arts Umbrella, among others. Inverso’s full-length works include: Brittle Failure, which has been a part of tours and festivals in Spain, the Netherlands and Canada, Spooky ActionGem-like and Borrowed Time. Lesley’s choreographic work explores the physicality and spatial structures of emotional states at the intersection of dance, the visual arts, text and film. Recently she has expanded her practise to represent a broader spectrum of our life phases through intergenerational dance work.
